Milestone set in front boundary wall of No. 647 Main Road

Milestone. Probably early C19. Local stone, with cast iron plaque. Pillar about 400mm wide, tapering, 150mm thick, and
800mm tall with rounded top : plaque 400mm wide x 500mm deep, with shouldered curved top and double curved base, reads
"Wincanton" - on curve - "5 Sherborne 5". This road was administered by the Shaftesbury and Sherborne Trust from 1753.
