Farmhouse, now sub-divided into three tenements. C15 north-east wing
extended to south during C17, mid-C19 refacing and further alterations.
Timber-framed, of mainly square panelling but with heavy swept bracing
to earlier wing; some wattle-and-daub infill remaining but mainly brick
and C2O infill. Sandstone rubble plinth. Later additions and later re-
facing to east side. Slate roofs; brick stacks. Early wing aligned east/
west with later wing extending to south at east, further additions to west
side in angle of wings and to south gable end; axial stack to earlier wing
and gable-end stack to south. Entrances to west and east of south wing
and to north of earlier wing. Two storeys. West front: gable end of
earlier wing to left with jettied upper floor supported on mutilated
brackets and moulded ends to joists. Four-light C20 glazing bar casement
window; similar slightly larger window to ground floor. Later addition
in angle to right with 8-paned C20 casement on ground floor. C17 wing
to right with one 6-paned casement window and one 2-light C20 casement
window on ground floor. Ledged door with brick surround to left and 2-
light casement window to right. Single-storey extension further to right.
Interior of earlier wing retains two ogee-headed doorways; C17 wing retains
a mutilated cross-beamed ceiling. (RCHM, Vol III, p 101).
