Cottage. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with painted brick infill; straw thatch roof, half-hipped to left, re-
built after fire c.1985. Basic L-plan comprising original 2-bay cottage
extended to left in early C18 with shorter range to rear on right. One
storey and attic. Framing: mixture of square and rectangular panels, 2
from cill to wall-plate with long straight braces to original part; 3
square and rectangular panels to early C18 addition. Collar and tie beam
end trusses. Four C20 latticed casements to ground floor and 3 to raking
eaves dormers. Entrance through C20 plank door in single-storey hip-roofed
timber framed addition attached to right gable end. C20 red brick ridge
stack to left of centre, probably in position of former end stack.
