Shown on O.S. map as Post Office.
Farmhouse, latterly post office, now house. Early C17 with later
additions and alterations. Timber framed with red brick infill; straw
thatch roof. Apparently original 2-cell cottage of end baffle-entry plan
to left extended by 2 bays to right in late C17, right bay possibly formerly
agricultural. One storey and attic. Framing: rectangular panels, 2
from cill to wall-plate with short straight braces from wall posts to
wall-plate and tie beam. Queen-strut end truss to left. Smaller square
panels to later C17 addition. Original part has C19 casement to far left
and 2 grouped together to centre with gabled eaves dormer directly above
right window. C20 panelled door to far right with red brick ridge stack
(former end stack) directly above. Later C17 addition has 6-paned sash
window to left and small C19 casement to right with red brick ridge stack
between. Interior. Not inspected but likely to be of interest.
