GV II

Inn, now four houses. Late C16 with later alterations;
converted c1980. Timber-frame, plastered and colourwashed;
pantile roof with brick stacks in centre of ridge and at left
end.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey 11-window range, with irregularly spaced
windows mainly 2 and 3-light C20 casements. Three C20 doors to
ground floor; C20 door to No.19 entered through passageway at
far left end. First-floor right-hand window is an early C19
three-light metal casement. One single-light metal casement
above door to No.15, and to immediate right, also at first
floor, a 4-light C17 mullioned window.
Rear: originally jettied, largely rebuilt during conversion.
2-storey cross wings rebuilt.
INTERIOR: heavy chamfered bridging beams and chamfered joists.
Interiors all divided into rooms not in keeping with C16 plan.
HISTORY: the building was the Angel Inn from at least the C18.
There is no No.13.
