GV II
Two buildings, now offices and public convenience; part of row. Range on right,
fronting Market Place, is late C18; left range is mid C19. Flemish bond brick
with moulded rendered dressings. Right range has old plain-tile roof, brick
central stack. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. First bay has
sashes with glazing bars to upper half only. Canted bay with glazing bars, now
blind, on right. Blind sash above. Rendered flat arches with keyblocks. Main
front to Market Place. Mid/late C19 moulded 4-panelled door and overlight on
right. Former wide opening is much reduced, with late C20 doorway and vents.
Both openings have C19 brick segmental arches. First floor has large gauged
brick blank arch; imposts have guilloche bands Venetian window has moulded
surround. Pedimented gable has Diocletian window. Left range to Market Street
has slate roof; brick ridge stack. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys; 2-window range.
Former wide opening on left is reduced, with late C20 doorway and vents. Window
on right. Canted right side has late C20 glazed door and panel. Sashes
throughout, of 9 panes to second floor. All openings have chamfered rendered
flat arches with keyblocks.
