Toll cottage, now detached cottage. Mid C19, extended C20.
Rendered brick, tiled roof with fishscale bands, brick stack. Two-
storey, 3-window canted front facing road; central blocked doorway
with hoodmould, flanking splays have 2-light pointed windows with
Y-glazing bars and hoodmoulds. First floor has plat band and
leaded pointed 2-light casement with Y-glazing bars to centre with
blind lozenges either side. Right and left returns have blind
lozenges and blocked pointed doorways, left return has inserted C20
aluminium window. Extensive C20 rear additions in complementary
style. The road through Dilton Marsh was turnpiked after 1800.
