House, mid to later C18, ashlar and coursed rubble stone with stone
tiled hipped mansard roofs. Two ashlar stacks on north ridge, one
on south. Two storeys and attic, 5-window range, square plan.
Formal west and south fronts, ashlar with raised plinth, band,
moulded cornice and parapet. Twelve-pane sashes, 5-window range to
west, 3-window range to south with blank centre windows. Iron
flower balconies to all upper windows and one ground floor window
on south side. Six-panel door in moulded architrave with pediment
on brackets to centre of west front. Three dormers to west, 2 to
south. North and east sides are rubble stone without parapet.
North side has 3-window range, to right 12-pane sashes, upper sash
with flower balcony, to centre bead-moulded 2-light windows in
architraves with cornices over and leaded lights, to left hipped
roof ashlar addition with north side door and stone steps up.
Dormers as on west front to outer bays, small centre dormer. East
side has projecting wing to right with upper 12-pane sash and
flower balcony over paired 12-pane sashes. Added tower in angle to
main range. Main range has stair-light to right and one-window
range to left, all 12-pane sashes. Flush quoins.
Interior: closed string stair with column newels, turned balusters
and moulded rail. Front ground floor rooms have plain moulded
cornices and bead-moulded fireplaces.
