House, now divided into 2 shops and offices. Early C19. In
white brick with a plain parapet and slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar. 5 window range: all sashes,
12-pane to the 1st storey, 9-pane to the 2nd storey with one
blocked, in plain reveals with flat gauged arches. The ground
storey has 2 C20 restored shop fronts: No.8 divided into 4
lights by vertical glazing bars, No.9 21-pane. Two 6-panel
doors have pilastered wood doorcases and cornices.
INTERIOR: No.8 was extensively modernised during the 1980s and
has a number of reused timbers introduced into the ground

original remain, one with the housing for a brace, the other
for a window sill. The 2nd storey is an early C19 addition.
No.9 has a partly brick vaulted C16 cellar with 2 niches in
each side wall. Very large main beams only are exposed on the
ground storey. On the 1st storey the timbers are exposed along
the north wall, the ceiling has been raised and one tie-beam

without infill above. The rear has an altered clasped side
