House, now offices. Early to mid C18 with later alterations.
Timber-framed and roughcast; tiled roof with a plain parapet.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, cellar and formerly attics. 4 window
range: sashes with a single vertical glazing bar in flush
cased frames. On the ground storey, one 3-light window on the
right without glazing-bars. 2 gabled C19 dormers. A 6-panel
central door with a blank fanlight has an arched wooden
doorcase with panelled reveals, panelled pilasters and an open
dentil pediment. A second door on the extreme left, with a
plain doorcase and reveals, leads to No.85A on the upper
storey.
INTERIOR: the building was extensively restored in 1970 and it
is difficult to identify any C18 or pre-C18 features inside.
Cellar walls rebricked. Front slope of roof original, with a
very plain late clasped purlin form.
