II
House, formerly part of Hornby Hall, which was demolished mid C20th
following a fire. Mid C18th. Sandstone rubble with hipped tile roof. 2
storeys. South wall has chamfered quoins. The windows have stone surrounds
with a slight chamfer. To the left of the door is a triple window. The
right-hand light is sashed, the others blocked. The 1st floor is blank. To
the right of the door is a taller stairwindow, now with modern glazing.
To the right is a double sashed window with glazing bars. On the 1st floor
there is a window with glazing bars. To the right of the door there is an
eaves cornice.To the left the cornice has been cut back, but a blocking
course remains. There are blocked openings in the wall. Chimney to left of
door and on right-hand wall. The west wall, of 2 bays, is rendered and has
chamfered quoins and a cornice with blocking course. The ground-floor
windows are sashed with plain reveals. Those above have stone surrounds
with a slight chamfer.
