House, late C17th. Rubble (pebbledashed towards the street) with slate roof.
2 storeys, with cellar entered at ground level from yard at rear. South-west
wall (facing street) has 2 bays with sashed windows with plain reveals on
each floor, and a door with plain reveals between the bays. To the right
is a sashed window with glazing bars in a plain stone surround. On the
1st floor above is a 3-light chamfered mullioned window. To its left is
a one-light hollow-chamfered window with small leaded panes, with a one-
light plain chamfered window further left under the eaves. Both these
windows are in line with the chimney stack. The rear wall has chamfered
mullioned windows. At cellar level are one of 4 lights and one of 3 lights.
On the ground floor are one of 3 lights and one of 2 lights. On the 1st
floor are one of one light and one of 2 lights, with a 2-light hollow
chamfered window between. At an intermediate level near the centre of
the elevation are one-light stair windows, that between the cellar and
ground floor being hollow chamfered, that between the ground and 1st floor
being double-chamfered, the inner chamfer being hollow. Interior. The
south-eastern room has a small C18th moulded shouldered stone fireplace,
with a bread oven behind. Backing onto this, in the middle room, is a
fireplace with a stone spere and low chamfered mantel beam, probably
originally supporting a firehood. Within it, the top not fully visible
from the room, is a moulded shouldered stone fireplace of C18th type with
cornice mantel. In the cellar is a fireplace with chamfered jambs and
triangular head. On the ground and 1st floors are doors of c.1700
combining plank construction with moulded square panels.
