1836-41. Shown as completed on Decimus Burtonis plan of 1841, and built to his
design. Ashlar. Hipped slate roof. 3 storeys. Moulded eaves cornice. 45 bays
of which end 2 break right back. Of those on the street front, end 3 and central
7 are crowned by pediments. Sashes, some with glazing bars. On the 1st floor
those in the end 3 bays have moulded cornices, and those in the central 7 have
pediments. 1st floor windows grouped in threes by balconies with elaborate cast
iron balustrades. Doors up flights of steps with ashlar walls and moulded coping.
Cast iron railings to areas: spear finials.
