Pair of cottages, later C18. Watershot coursed sandstone, stone slate roof
with carries down further behind the ridge than in front, now no chimney.
Two storeys, each cottage one bay, with plain doorways coupled in the
centre, stepped triple-light windows on both floors (that at ground floor
of No. 156 lengthened downwards), and a single-light window in the centre
of the 1st floor. Rear wall built back to earth except 1st floor which
has vertical rectangular window at each end and 2 small windows near the
centre (one blocked). Probably used for domestic weaving.
