Former row of three cottages, later C18. Watershot coursed sandstone, stone slate roof with one chimney on the ridge. Two storeys, each cottage one bay, built on slope so that ground floor of No. 36 is raised above road level; plain doorways to Nos. 38 and 40 are coupled (that on left partly blocked), and No. 36 has similar raised doorway; at ground floor Nos 36 and 40 each have one stepped triple-light window, No. 38 has an altered window in a greatly enlarged opening; at first floor all have two stepped triple-light windows (one light of that on the right at No 38-blocked). Rear not inspected. Probably used for domestic weaving.
