House, probably for putting-out manufacturer, late C18; altered in C19, now 2
shops. Watershot coursed sandstone with 3 bands, moulded gutter cornice,
slate roof with end wall chimneys. Double-depth 3-bay plan. Three storeys;
ground floor has modern shop window in 1st bay, large double-fronted C19 shop
window with slim columns and consoles in 2nd and 3rd bays, upper floors have 3
coupled vertical rectangular windows each, with a sill band at 1st floor and
both sill and head bands at 2nd floor; 2nd floor windows in centre and right
sashed, others altered. Right return wall has doorway with plain surround,
and at 2nd floor level a taking-in door with a slab canopy on brackets. Rear:
2-storey extension.
