Office building at west end of 4th lock, probably c.1816. Coursed stone,
slate roof with stone gable copings and a chimney at rear gable. Square
single-cell plan. Built into slope, one storey to road (north) side, 2
storeys to south side. Gabled front facing bridge has a board door to the
right, approached by a stone step protected on 2 sides by iron railings
with a ramped handrail; and a fixed window of 4 large panes in a plain
stone case; south side has a boarded basement door with a large lintel a
small basement window and a top-hung casement window above.
