Farmhouse, probably late C17, altered in C19. Red sandstone, with
lighter stone dressings, slate roof with gable chimneys; side and
rear walls pebble-dashed. Two-bay baffle-entry plan. Two storeys;
2-storey porch at right hand end, with kneelers to the gable, open
doorcase of exceptionally large stone blocks, a dripmould, and a
1st floor 2-light window (formerly mullioned) under a hoodmould;
original plank door. Two double-chamfered stone mullion windows to
each floor, of 3 lights in 1st bay, 4 lights in 2nd bay, all lacking
mullions. Windows at rear were also mullioned. Interior: good
late C17 or early C18 quarter-turn staircase; stop chamfered bridging
beams and secondary beams on both floors (some cyma stopped); ceiling
joists and some door lintels Also chamfered and stopped; 1st floor
partitions timber-framed with clamstaff and daub infill.
