School, dated 1836. Stone, slate roof with octagonal chimney at left
gable. Rectangular single pile plan. One storey; central gabled porch
has finials on the kneelers and the apex, doors in each side wall with
hoodmoulds, and tablets above with incised cursive lettering "Boys"
(left), "Girls" (right); a 2-light mullion window with hoodmould in the
front wall, and above it a stone tablet inscribed:
"THIS SCHOOL/Was erected by Subsc=/
ription with aid from/the National
Society/for instruction accor=/ding
- to the principles/of the Church of/
England as now by Law Established/
Anno Domini/1836"
Two windows each side of porch, and one in each gable, all square with
hoodmoulds, now containing modern top hung casements. Iron railings.
parallel to front each side of porch, with spearhead tops and some urn
finials. Good example of small National School.
