Two houses and shop. Late C16, altered C19 and C20. Originally timber-framed,
the left bay retaining diagonal close studding to jettied first floor gable.
Remainder mostly rebuilt, roughcast and colourwashed. Plain tile roofs, rough-
cast and colourwashed chimney to right. L-plan, the left bay a gabled cross
wing with C19 rear extensions. 2 storeys; 2 bays to front. Left bay has
jettied upper storey with C20 3-light transomed wooden casement. Studding
immediately below window has been rearranged C20. Ground floor has early C19
shop front with wooden glazing bars and central mid C19 double doors. Doors are
half-glazed and have patterned glazing bars. Right bay has C20 barred wooden
windows with top-lights, and C19 6-panelled door to left. This has early-mid
C19 wooden doorcase with moulded pilaster strips and frieze, square paterae, and
simple cornice hood. Left side of cross wing has irregular C20 windows and
door, and one C19 3-light horizontal sash. Far end originally a bakehouse but
no features survive. Interior: Front bays of cross wing have heavy C16 floor
joists. Interior of right bay may prove of interest but not inspected.
