Stone House

A Grade II Listed Building in Swannington, Leicestershire

Stone House, 53 to 57 Main Street, Swannington

Uploader's Comments

Large, early C17 house, built of coursed, squared, local stone. Three storeys plus attic. Stone mullion windows, some with hood moulds. Staircase windows and one gable blocked. Stone copings and kneelers to gable ends, (missing on left hand). Large chimney stack in the middle of the house: rubble built up with brick. The house is built into bank so the rear has only 2 storeys and is accessed by steps. (Photo Apr 2009).
