House: C17 with early C19 refronting and additions. Coursed limestone
rubble and red brick with ashlar dressings, pantile rooft with stone
coped gables and 2 brick gable stacks. L-plan. Two storey three bay
front in red brick with stone plinth, rusticated quoins, and narrow
stone cornice, the flanking bays are slightly bowed through both storeys.
Central C19 six panelled glazed door with traceried fanlight having small
stone doorcase with slender engaged Tuscan columns, narrow frieze and
cornice. Flanked by single C19 glazing bar sash bow windows. Above a
central glazing bar sash is flanked by two further bow sash windows, all
windows have reeded surrounds with corner rosettes. All windows have
later Venetian shutters. The gable walls and rear wing are coursed
limestone rubble. Interior has an elliptical iron balustraded staircase
in curved rear projection. The principal rooms retain contemporary
fireplaces, moulded plaster cornices, panelled doors and in the entrance
hall are two reeded blank arches to both side walls.
