This fine Regency building was a former home to many notable people, including George T. Doo, royal engraver to William IV and Queen Victoria and Dr Bowie C Gowan MD, inventor of surgical instruments. The house was requisitioned in World War II to help the war effort. This stucco 19th century house in situated in a quiet cul-de-sac off Stanmore Hill. It has an impressive façade with a large central porch flanked by fluted Doric columns.
