C18. Badly damaged by enemy action but bow repaired by SPAB. Brown brick,
red dressings. Elongated hexagonal plan. 3 storeys and attic. 5 windows.
Central wooden bay with 3 arched windows in architraves with keystones,
cornice with 6 consoles. Brick band above 1st floor. Old red tile roof,
2 dormers. Gate and garden wall. RCHM; NMR. This house was the home of
William Hogarth, the artist, from 1749 until the night before his death
in 1764. Now a Hogarth museum.
