Description

The following buildings shall be added:

TQ 0785 ICKENHAM LONG LANE
(east side)
804-/16/10006 Nos. 85, 87 and 89 (odd)
(Long Lane Farm Cottages)
II
Farm Cottages. Late C18, incorporating features from a C17
structure. Brick in English and Flemish bonds. Roof of tile
with brick dentil cornice. Rectangular block, each unit two up
and two down plan. Two storeys and three window range.
Original front elevation now to the rear. Segmental-arched
openings. External stack to right gable end. Square ridge
stack in party wall between nos. 87 and 89. Windows to no. 85
with twelve-pane casement of original design.
Interior: Corner fires in all rooms, some of which are boarded
over. Partitioning the stair area from the north bedroom of
each unit is panelling which appears earlier than the
structure. Most of the bedroom doors are detailed with richer
mouldings than the panelling, with HL and butterfly hinges
which suggest a date of early C17.
