Terraced town house. c.1750-53, probably by the master builder John
Phillips in partnership with George Shakespear, on a Berkeley Estate
lease. Darkened brick, slate roof. 4 storeys, including attic storey and
dormered mansard, on basement. 3 windows wide. Doorway to right of late
C18 type with 5-panel door and side lights under elliptical arched
patterned fanlight. Recessed sashes, no glazing bars, under flat gauged
arches. Plat band and sill band to 1st floor; bracketed main cornice over 2nd
floor and parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings and stone obelisk-piers
flanking entrance. Interior altered but has top lit stone staircases in
middle with square section bombé cast iron balustrade; some cornices
intact etc.
