Two pairs of houses with linking range. c.1830. Yellow brick in Flemish bond,
stucco dressings. Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys and basement, 4 bay blocks with
recessed entrance bays at ends and central 2 bay linking range with entrances.
Steps to round-arched entrances, panelled doors flanked by attached slender
columns and with patterned radial fanlights. No 20 has double doors with
fanlight in pilastered porch with keyed round entrance with later glazed addition
above. Stucco ground floor sill band. Elliptical-arched recesses with stucco
imposts containing sash windows with glazing bars and iron balconies. Above,
sashes mainly with glazing bars and flat gauged brick arches. Iron balconies to
Nos 20 and 22. Shutters to Nos 24 and 26. Central range has moulded 1st floor
band and stucco parapet. Overhanging hipped roof with stacks to party walls. No
24 has patterned iron front railing. No 20 has blue plaque commemorating the
artist William Strang who lived there 1900-21.
