Grand terraced house. 1807 - 16; part of group probably by Thomas Leverton, of
which No 5 is the only other survivor. Drastically remodelled and encased in
stone in 1903 - 07. Stone clad; green slate pitched roof. 4 storeys, double
attics and basement. 5 windows wide including 3-window segmental bay window of
full height to right. Projecting Ionic porch to left. Panelled doors. Ground
floor windows square headed with rusticated surrounds. First floor windows round
headed with Ionic half columns between segmental heads to second floor, with
Corinthian half columns between; third floor with square headed windows
interspersed with richly carved pilasters. Casements; small panes with timber
glazing bars. Rich cornice above first floor. Cornice above third floor, with
balustrade. Wrought iron area railings. Rear elevation also of interest.
