House. 1850 on keystone. For Joseph Cooper. Watershot
hammer-dressed stone with slate roof. Double-depth central-
staircase plan with 2 storeys. Conservatory to left return
and small addition to rear. 3 bays with rusticated quoins,
ashlar plinth, first floor band, first floor sill band,
eaves cornice with blocking course and hipped roof. Broad
steps lead to a wide central doorway which has side panels
and fanlight under a depressed arch with rusticated
voussoirs and keystone. Windows on either side have eared
architraves and panelled aprons which break the plinth below
them. First floor windows have architrave surrounds, the
outer windows with triangular pediments on console
brackets, the central one with segmental pediment. Sill
aprons with flanking console brackets to outer windows and
blind balustrading to centre. Blind piercing to blocking
course which has articulating dies. All windows are C20
casements. Tall arched stair window with stained glass to
rear. Dogleg stair with cast iron balusters.
