Public house. C15 with C19 facade. Timber framed. Ground
floor clad with painted brick, left end of ground floor
rendered. First floor weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. Open
hall of 2 timber-framed bays with storeyed bay to each end;
possibly a Wealden. 2 storeys and cellar on irregular plinth.
Continuous jetty, stepped up across 2 central bays. Steeply
pitched roof hipped to right, hip returning with lower ridge.
Lower ridge over left end bay, with main roof hipped down to it.
Rear stack to left end and to rear of right hall bay. Irregular
fenestration of 4 casements; one 2-light to left bay, one
3-light to each central bay, and one 4-light to slightly
broader right bay. C19 canted bays to ground floor. 4 doors;
one panelled, up 5 steps, to right end of left bay, one half-
glazed to each end of left hall bay up 5 steps and 4 steps
respectively, and one half-glazed door up 2 steps to right end of
right hall bay. Rear return wing added to right. Interior: only
partly inspected. Exposed framing. Hollow-chamfered beams.
Doorhead with solid spandrels.
