Toll house. Built shortly after the Act of 1758 for a
turnpike road from Austerlands to Wakefield. Hammer-dressed
watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. One room on
each of 2 floors with a later lean-to addition against right
gable. Door to right with square-cut surround and paired
sash window with dividing mullion of C19. 4-light first
floor window with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. Brick
gable chimney stack. 2 blocked windows to each gable-end
and two 2-light windows to left gable (both with mullions
removed).
