Formerly part of No 97 Crane Street. Established as separate unit circa 1812
and mostly of that date. 2 storeys, stuccoed, projecting plinth, plain frieze,
moulded cornice and blocking course. Roof probably slate. 3 windows on 1st
floor.
2 windows and door to left hand on ground floor. 6-panelled door with 3-centred
arched fanlight, radiating and wreathed. Both deeply recessed with flush panelled
reveals.
Slightly projecting surround to door with panelled pilasters supporting flat
reeded and rosetted brackets with flat, moulded cornice hood over. The spandrels
have fluted fan shaped ornament.
The 2 ground floor windows have contemporary wrought iron scroll guards. A
small modern window has been inserted to left hand of doorway. The house
has a curved staircase with plain slender contemporary balustrade and handrail.
Good Regency fireplace. French window to south with frame of pilasters having
Regency incised decoration.
Nos 87 to 101 (odd) form an important group.
