Country house. 3 builds. Early/mid C18 incorporating earlier core. Alterations
in 1863, restoration in 1895, interior remodelling C20. Regular coursed squared
limestone, ashlar limestone, stuccoed brick. Hipped slate roofs. Brick ridge and
end stacks, some rendered. Garden front: 6:3:2 bays. Low 6-window range to left,
of 2 storeys, has sashes with glazing bars and a 2-storey bay window with stone
cased sashes with keyblocks, flat bands, parapet and moulded wood eaves cornice.
Central 3-storey block has single-storey bays with stone-cased sashes with
keyblocks, glazing bars and balustrades with ball finials. 3-light sashes and
small sashes to upper floors. Central bay of 3 storeys with entrance. Stone
cased openings with keyblocks. Panelled parapet. Right part of 2 storeys. 2
French windows. First floor has 2 large-paned sashes. Entrance front: centre
block of 3 storeys and 3 bays, central advanced bay. Pedimented entrance bay has
Tuscan doorcase with balustraded balcony to 3-light first floor window.
Diocletian window to attic floor. Stone cased windows with keyblocks to sides.
Flat bands. Parapet. Ironwork open sided verandah to right. Interior: cellar has
4-centred arched stone doorway with stop-chamfered jambs. Pine panelling and
shutters in central block. Waterloo Room has C19 classical style pedimented
doorcases. C20 staircase.
