C18 or earlier. This stands in the garden of the Old Rectory, though it is
now occupied as a separate dwelling. It was originally the cottage occupied
by the Verderer of Wiston Park and stands on an eminence which gives it a good
view over the Park. It is a smmll 2 storey building of which the front is
elliptical with a rectory portion behind. The ground floor is of white brick
and has 2 windows in the centre with a shallow niche on each side of them.
The first floor is set back within the space occupied by the ground floor and
there is a roof round the bottom of Horsham slabs sloping up to the first floor
which is tile-hung and has one window and a polygonal pointed metal roof, with
Horsham slabs behind. Round-headed doorway on the east side. Modern additions
to the rear. Cottage cupboard-staircase inside.
