Originally one house, now 2. Late C16 or early C17, the facade cased in early
C20 red brick. Roof plaintiled to front and pantiled to rear. 2 storeys and
attic. Former jetty to street, now underbuilt. 2 windows, 3-light casements
with a single horizontal glazing bar to each light. On the ground floor, mid
C20 windows without glazing bars, the central window now divided into 2. Flat
gauged brick arches. 2 doors with 4 flush panels. One flat-roofed dormer
with mid C20 standard windows. Interior. No.20 has exposed C17 ceilings:
floorbeams with barred stop-chamfers, plain joists set flat. Some framing
visible on upper floor. Newel stair in front of stack. Side purlin roof,
most of the timbers concealed. Interior of No.18 not examined.
