- Willow Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C16. Timber framed, mainly roughcast-rendered, thatched
roof. 3-cell form. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows, late C19 casements with
a single horizontal glazing bar to each light. An original upper window to
rear has roll and cavetto-moulded mullions. Lobby entrance: small C20 gabled
porch with boarded half-door. Stack has heavy plain axial shaft. Small gable
stack to right. One-storey rear outhouse has stack which served a copper and
bread oven. Interior. Plain first floor studding with evidence for original
windows. Hall has chamfered-joist ceiling and a late C17 studded partition
against the cross-passage. Plain joists at service end. Intact service
partition with evidence for original doorways. Oak newel stair. Some good
doors of C16, C17 and C18. Wind-braced side purlin roof.
