House, formerly the vicarage. C16 main range; in early C17 the parlour end was
extended to the north east and re-roofed to form a cross-wing facing the road.
Timber framed and plastered. Roofs plaintiled except south west slope of main
range which is pantiled. 2 storeys and attic. Cross-wing has 2 windows on
ground floor only: tripartite sashes with glazing bars; central doorway with
6-panel raised and fielded door, rectangular fanlight, moulded architrave,
frieze and dentil cornice. The right gable end has a first floor canted bay
window on wooden brackets. Against the rear wall of this range a stack with 2
C19 shafts set diamondwise. Main range to rear has various old casement
windows and an internal stack. Hall ceiling with closely-spaced chamfered
joists. One C16 first floor window with roll-moulded mullions in former
outside wall. Early C19 well stair with stick balusters and carved tread-
ends, in separate wing to north east of main range. An early C19 ground floor
fireplace with reeded surround and another with eared surround on the first
floor.
