Farmhouse. Late C16, altered C18 and C19. Chequerwork knapped flint and dressed
stone with later brick stack, window surrounds and added wings, old plain tile roofs,
some ridge tiles with medieval style comb. 2 bay original building with wing
behind at centre, C18 parallel range added to rear, left of wing and C19 wing
added to rear at right. Front 2 storey, 2 bay. Central doorway with C18 mould
stone doorcase, rectangular fanlight and C19 studded, ledged door. Windows late
C18 3-light casements. Plinth with moulded brick offset at sill level. Above
door large stone set upside down with arms and motto of Archbishop Langton. This
was brought here from Marwell Hall. Central C17 cruciform on plan with offset
head and C18 external stack on left end. Roof rebuilt C18 and gables have exposed
end trusses and brickwork.
