Cottage. C17, altered and extended late C20. Timber-framed, with rendered
infill, brick replacement walling and refacing, brick plinth, thatched roof
and large, external, rendered brick chimney at left gable end with thatched
offsets and bread oven. Two framed bays; single storey and attic with dormers.
Framing: 3 rectangular panels from sill to wall-plate, and short, straight
braces in upper corners; end trusses are not exposed. Front elevation: ground
floor has a C20 casement and a rectangular light; above are 2 dormers cut
into the thatch, each with paired, C20 casements. There is a small, square
fire light to the front side of the chimney base. Main entrance now in single
storey, C20 wing at right gable end joining older structure to large extension.
Interior not inspected. Well at front right of building. Undergoing restoration
at time of survey (August 1984).
