House. C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed, brick and rendered
infill, sandstone rubble plinth, plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned
north/south; large external rubble chimney with bread oven and demolished
stack at north gable end; also remains of external brick stack at south gable
end. Two storeys. Framing: three rows of panels from sill to wall-plate;
long straight braces across lower corners; collar and tie-beam trusses with
two struts to collar, V-strut in apex at south gable end and single strut
to apex at north gable end. Main west elevation: ground floor has a 2-light
casement, a square light and a square opening for a missing window; 3-light
window on first floor; ledged and battened door to left. Attic light in
south gable end. Interior: framing intact. C19 range and bread oven in
south end fireplace. Westwood farmhouse is not included in this list.
