House. Late C18, altered c1905 by Ernest Newton for Richard Biddulph Martin.
Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings; plain tiled roof with gable-
end parapets. Large ashlar ridge stack to east of centre, also west end ridge
stack with two shafts and moulded capping. Two storeys and attic with dormers.
One plus three bays. Three-bay part has 16-pane sashes with moulded architraves
on both floors, a C20 gabled dormer with a 2-light casement and a central
entrance which has a wide open pediment on engaged Doric columns, a door with
six raised and fielded panels and a transom light with three glazing bars.
The left bay has a hipped-roofed two-storey wing with a 2-light casement on
both floors and a 5-light casement on the first floor in the angle with the
main part. Attic light at east gable end. A single-storey wing adjoins the
east side elevation and has a 2-light casement with a cambered head in its
