House, now public house. Probably late C16 to C17 with later alterations.
Timber-frame with plaster infill mainly cased and extended in painted brick.
Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. T-plan with main range aligned north/
south and two-bay cross-wing at north end. Cellar and two storeys. East
elevation to road has 4:1 windows, four wrought iron early C19 glazing bar
casements and one mid-C20 casement with two lights to right in gable front.
Ground floor has two more C19 glazing bar casements, under cambered heads,
to left, a 3-light early C20 casement roughly to centre and a 2-light con-
temporary casement in gable front. Three entries, two juxtaposed under flat
canopy supported on brackets have early C20 panelled doors and the third in
junction of cross-wing and main range has glazed door. Beneath left part of
main range are three entries to cellar with cambered heads. Rear elevation
has exposed timber-framing to cross-wing and part of main range. Interior
of cross-wing has heavy ceiling beams and wattle-and-daub infill to some
wall-framing. Further heavy ceiling beams to main range. Cellar has raised
cast iron hearth to south end with large sway above.
