House. Probably C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble and timber-
frame, partly rendered. Welsh slate roof and sandstone end stack with brick
shaft. Rectangular two-bay plan aligned north/south. Three storeys.
South elevation has rendered gable with central 3-light late C19 casement
to first floor and contemporary 2-light casement to top floor. Ground floor
has late C20 French casement to right and contemporary 2-light window to left
of centre. Large weathered buttress to extreme left. West elevation has
exposed framing with square panels in heavy scantling with angle struts to
first floor and later close irregular studding of thin scantling with long
diagonal struts to top floor. East elevation has windows with cambered
heads, one containing an early C19 wrought iron casement. Interior-has trusses
with pegged king-posts. Principal ground floor room has fireplace with slightly
cambered oak lintel and chamfered stone jambs. The ceiling is divided into four
regular panels by beams with straight cut chamfer stops. Blocked doorway with
segmental head between two ground floor rooms. (RCHM, Vol III, p 109).
