SO 76 SW CLIFTON UPON TEME -

2/14 Noak Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 with C19 modifications. Timber-frame with brick infill, later
brick additions, plain tile roof, brick stack to left of central range with 2
engaged diagonal shafts; 4 engaged shafts to stack in right cross-wing. U-
plan, with C19 lean-to partially filling U. 2 storeys; unequal wings, left
wing: one C19 casement to each floor; right wing larger, with 3-light casement
on ground floor (no first floor window); all elevations have gables, including
those facing into U, with plain barge boards and finials at the apex; the right
return front has a C17 gabled window which projects slightly and has a single
bracket; the rear wall is completely reconstructed in C19 brick, with a porch
which has built into it some C17 splat balusters.
Framing: square panelling, mostly replaced on ground floor; roof trusses of
2 cross-wings have 2 collars and multiple queen posts.
