House. Early C19. Unpainted stucco with hipped slate roof. A symmetrical
composition with a main block of three storeys and five bays flanked by
wings each of two storeys, and two bays. Main block, wings, and central bay
each flanked by giant pilasters which have capitals with a cavetto moulding.
These terminate below coved eaves. Windows are sashed with glazing bars.
The single-storey distyle limestone porch has Greek Doric columns between
unfluted antae. Chimneys to left and right of main block behind ridge.
Interior: not fully accessible at time of survey (October 1986). Has stair
with open string, turned balusters and wreathed handrails. Nash is said to
have made alterations to the house after 1803. (BoE, p 212).
