Barn. Early C17. Timber frame on brick plinth, dark weatherboarded with
a steep red tiled roof. A tall 3-bay barn facing S with double doors in
the middle bay and wide winnowing door at rear. Stepped jowls to
bay-posts, unjowled posts at mid-bay and half-height rail staggered
between posts. Long straight braces to tie-beams. 2 purlins to each
slope, the upper clasped by collar and principal, the lower butt jointed
in staggered line. Heavy inclined struts to lower angles of trusses.
Straight wind-braces to upper purlins. Squint-butted scarf joint in
front wallplate. Farmhouse not of special interest.
