House. C18, present chimney late C18, W wing rebuilt c.1978. Timber
frame on brick sill, dark weatherboarded but W end roughcast.
Half-hipped tiled roof. A 2-storeys, 2-cells, internal chimney plan
house facing N with single-storey W range replacing a former W lean-to
service room (corbelled offset in decorative brick chimney formerly
exposed on W end). N front has 3 windows on each floor with 2-light
flush casements. Original windows similar at rear. Boarded door now in E
end with gabled tiled hood. Interior has thin exposed timbers, straight
tension braces in walls, axial beam and open fireplace with timber
lintol originally the only fireplace in the house. Carpenter's marks in
series on former W end. Moulded plank door with H-hinges. Tie-beam cut
and strapped for building of chimney.
