Late C15 range of timber framed buildings. With No 25.
No 23: 2 storeys and attic, 2 windows. High pitched, tiled roof with
gabled dormer. Deep overhang above 1st floor window. Plastered front
with rusticated quoin at left. 1st floor sash Windows in slightly
projecting moulded frames. Ground floor neo-classical reproduction
shop front. Roof continuous with roof of No 25. With No 23.
No 25: Main block of 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows. Fairly close studded
timber framing with thin scantlings and tension braces, much restored.
High pitched, tiled roof with 3 gabled dormers. Walls filled with
plaster. 4-light wood mullioned and transomed casement windows (casements
modern). Later, stone-coped, brick plinth. Recessed, central door under
Tudor arch. Left-hand section over carriageway, 2 storeys, one window,
jettied at 1st floor and attic level, with close studded, thick timbers
on lst floor, also canted bay window with mullions and transoms.
Roof continuous with roof of No 23. Cl? rear extension with high-pitched,
hipped, tiled roof.
Nos 1 to 25 (odd) form a group.
