Farmhouse. C16, early C17 N crosswing and floor and chimney inserted in
hall range, renovation in C19. Timber frame on brick sill, roughcast
with painted brick face to front end. Steep old red tile roofs. A
1 1/2-storeys 3-bays hall range former open hall house facing E with small
2 storeys N crosswing with chimney built in former crosspassage at
junction of wings. E front has 2 small gabled dormers at the eaves of
lower part, a casement window to the 1st floor of the gabled wing, and 3
casement windows to the ground floor. One door by chimney, and one into
S and bay between the windows. Red brick facing to S gable. Interior has
jowled posts, straight braces to wallplate, axial chamfered beams, with
ogee stops in crosswing. Clasped-purlin roofs, curved wind-braces in
hall range. Squint-butted scarf joint in wallplate.
