Pump. Erected c.1908 for G.H. Hodgson, lord of the manor, when he had
the stream culverted. In use up to 1940s. Cast iron with flat stone in
front. About 1.5M high a pump with cylindrincal shaft decorated with
raised rings, corbelled out to wider cylindrical fluted barrel with
large spurred spout at front (W), S-shaped long cast iron handle on S
side, and fluted domed cap with finial. A pump was originally provided
to each pair of cottages, and several survive. (Ashley Cooper (1982)84).
